National Geographic has come out with an awesome Mapping Software. You can do some exploring before you even leave.
Once you plot a course, the software lets you "fly" over your route using 3D magic.
You can print custom maps and transfer waypoints to or from most GPS units.
It has a powerful search function and retails for $99.00.
